How's The Weather?
I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make a life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humour, hurt or heal.”
Goethe (1749-1842)
Goethe said the above statement over 200 years ago and it’s still true today.
You make an impact on the people around you. You have the power to motivate and inspire and disempower. You affect the climate in your home and your workplace.
Do you bring sunshine and a warm smile, support and a helping hand? Or do you bring complaints to the people around you?
It’s worth checking in with yourself, or asking someone you trust, just how your ‘climate’ has been lately.
Sometimes we may have just got into a ‘mood’ which became a habit. Perhaps we are tired and need a break or a holiday. Maybe things are looking, sounding or feeling stale or boring, and taking that time off, whether it’s for an hour or a week, will give us a fresh new perspective. And a new perspective always improves performance, doesn’t it?
Have a happy week,
Carol
