How's The Weather?

I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make a life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humour, hurt or heal.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1842) German polymath

Goethe said the above statement over 200 years ago and it’s still true today.

You do make an impact on the people around you. You do have the power to motivate and inspire or to spread gossip and disempower. You affect the climate in your home and your workplace.

Do you bring misery and complaints to the people around you? Do you instil doubt and fear? What’s the purpose of doing that? Or do you bring sunshine and a warm smile, support and a helping hand?

It’s worth checking in with yourself, or asking someone you trust, just how your ‘climate’ has been lately.

Sometimes we may have just got into a ‘mood’ which became a habit. Perhaps we’re tired and need a break or a holiday. Maybe things are looking, sounding or feeling stale or boring, and taking that time off, whether it’s for an hour or a week, will give us a fresh new perspective. And a new perspective always improves performance, doesn’t it? That’s right.

Have a happy week (with a sunny forecast!)
